🦷 Dentistry & Public Health

I am currently a dental resident at the University of Rochester, where I focus on integrating clinical excellence with public service and global health. Before entering residency, I served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health at the University of California.

​

My academic and fieldwork have long focused on underserved populations, particularly refugees. This commitment was recognized with the Ulysses Medal for Leadership in Refugee Health, a prestigious award jointly conferred by the University of California, the University of Barcelona, and California State University.

I continue to explore the cultural dimensions of oral care through research on traditional tools like the miswak, aiming to reconnect ancient practices with modern dentistry.

🎼 Music & Creativity

​

As a Turkish multi-instrumentalist and composer, I create music that tells stories without words. My sound blends neoclassical, minimal, electronic, and world music influences. Every piece begins at the piano and evolves with instruments such as the flute, upright bass, koto, erhu, guzheng, and more.

My debut album, “Story of an Ignorant,” is a deeply personal and cinematic journey — a reflection on the space between fear and hope, ignorance and understanding.

I also provide consultation and mentorship for international students and healthcare professionals seeking education and career opportunities in the United States. I share honest insights into life abroad, the challenges and rewards of professional transitions, and the practical steps needed for success.
